Maybe for the same reason you have to pull over and look at a road accident. But I know what you are saying and I am ever more horrified at what is happening with voters. Obama went from a projected lead in double digits to being neck and neck in only a couple of months. Was there a scandal or something? No. In fact McCain is doing more than enough on his side to scare voters away if anyone cared or paid attention, but because he was once a POW apparently he can do no wrong. This is a man who has to have his cell phone taken away from him, because he calls anyone and everyone for an opinion on something and then goes with the last advice he heard, even if it's a total contradiction to what he was going with the day before (http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/10/us/politics/10mccain.html?_r=1&em=&pagewanted=print&oref=slogin). This is a campaign that, when McCain says something people don't like, claim that "the candidate does not speak for the campaign" ... What? If McCain doesn't speak for McCain, who does? And does McCain realise this? Whether it is Obama or McCain in 2009, it is not going to be the world's smartest man in the White House. It never can be. It never should be. It doesn't need to be. All it needs to be is a smart man, who surrounds himself with even smarter people, and knows when to listen to them and when not to. Obama is such a man. McCain is a confused old fool, surrounding himself with wealthy lobbyists. Why can't people see this? Why when McCain says "we need to drill off the coast and we need to drill now", and Obama points out that it would make NO difference in prices for about a decade and then only a tiny difference, and it would be disasterous environmentally, creating new problems and not solving any old ones, AND MCCAIN CONCEDES THIS IS TRUE, why do people keep cheering when he keeps calling for it?! Why? What is wrong with you idiots. McCain is a fool. I say this, believe it or not, with respect for him, because I'd rather see him as a fool than someone evil who knows what he is doing. How can you people give him the keys to your country? I'd send for your stuff now Carrie, I'm not sure there'll be an America to go back to next year.
