About

My name is Carrie Isgett.  I have no fame or claim to glory to speak of, unless you include the fact that I was the “Root Beer Chug Champion” three years running when I was in high school.

I spent a great majority of my childhood under the impression that I was a floor tile. Upon realizing that this was defying several laws of gravity and not to mention my mother, I began a more productive life choice. It was then, at the age of eight, that I began my first novel, a thrilling tale about a talking St. Bernard. As I grew up I attempted to ignore my new calling and decided to become a famous actress. Upon realizing that this was defying several laws of cruel and unusual punishment and not to mention my mother, I returned to my typewriter, which by this point, was a laptop.

I have now embraced this so‐called destiny and I am determined to make it my life’s work. In my relatively short career, I have had a couple of plays and several short film scripts produced and now find it difficult to remember the days when I was a mere floor tile not writing anything.

I fall in love with every character I create and can hear him speaking to me in my head, though I’m pretty sure that’s technically ‘schizophrenia.’ I digress, but sincerely, I relish in any opportunity to put words to paper, even in a typically tedious task such as writing an “About Me” page.

Currently, I am residing in a lovely suburban home in Sydney, Australia with my girlfriend.  This is a long way from home for me considering I was born and bred in good ol’ South Carolina, but I seem to be adapting fine.  If Dorothy can do it, so can I — minus the shoes.  I recently completed an Advanced Diploma of Screen at the International Film School Sydney and now I am trying to make it in the Industry. THE Industry.  I’ll let you know how that goes.  My high hopes is that this website will help to get my name out there and noticed.  I’ll let you know how that goes, as well.
